Β’ ΔΙΕΘΝΕΣ ΣΥΝΕΔΡΙΟ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟΥ ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΜΟΥ
«Χώρος και Χρόνος στο Aρχαίο Θέατρο»

YΠΟ ΤΗΝ ΑΙΓΙΔΑ ΤΟΥ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟΥ ΑΝΟΙΚΤΟΥ ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟΥ
και σε συνεργασία με τη Θεματική Ενότητα «Αρχαίο Ελληνικό Θέατρο» του Προγράμματος Σπουδών «Ελληνικός Πολιτισμός» του Ελληνικού Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου (Ε.Α.Π.) διοργανώνεται από την Ένωση «Εκαταίος» το Β’ Διεθνές συνέδριο με αντικείμενο τον χώρο και τον χρόνο στο Αρχαίο Θέατρο (τραγωδία, κωμωδία, σατυρικό δράμα, μίμους, ρωμαϊκό δράμα).
Το συνέδριο θα εστιάσει στη σύγχρονη έρευνα σχετικά με τη θεατρική σημασία, τη δραματική και σκηνική λειτουργία, τη δραματουργική χροιά και την εκμετάλλευση, τόσο ενδοκειμενικά όσο και με κριτήρια κοινωνικοπολιτικά, του χρόνου και του χώρου, ως δεδομένων από την υπόθεση/μύθο και την πλοκή, τη θεσμοθέτηση των αγώνων/παραστάσεων και την αξιοποίηση του «χρονοχώρου» ως θεατρικών εννοιών.
Ορισμένα ενδεικτικά θέματα που θα καλύψει το συνέδριο είναι: οι θεατρικές παραστάσεις και τα θεατρικά οικοδομήματα εκτός Αθηνών, η παρουσίαση και η ένταξη του παρελθόντος και του παρόντος στα διασωζόμενα δραματικά έργα, η σχέση παράστασης και ιδεολογίας, ο ρόλος της αγροτικής και της αστικής ζωής στα έργα, η συσχέτιση του δραματικού χώρου και γενικότερα του θέατρου με τις συγχρονικές των έργων πολιτικές συνθήκες, η δυνατότητα ακριβούς χρονολόγησης έργων βάσει χρονικών αναφορών, το θέατρο ως πηγή λαογραφικών και νομικών μαρτυριών, και ακόμη περισσότερο η μετουσίωση του μυθολογικού ή φανταστικού υλικού από τους δραματουργούς βάσει των θρησκευτικών, πνευματικών και κοινωνικών αναζητήσεων και τάσεων της εποχής τους. Βαρύτητα θα δοθεί και στο πώς γίνεται αντιληπτός και «απτός» ο χώρος και ο χρόνος του αρχαίου θεάτρου από τις σύγχρονες σκηνοθετικές προσεγγίσεις καθώς και η μεταφυσική και μεταθεατρική ερμηνεία του χωροχρόνου.
Οποιασδήποτε άλλες προτάσεις για θέματα ανακοινώσεων που σχετίζονται με το αντικείμενο του συνεδρίου και δεν αναφέρονται στο ενδεικτικό κατάλογο μπορούν να συμπεριληφθούν στις εργασίες του συνεδρίου και στις ομάδες συζήτησης.
Σκοπός του Β’ Διεθνούς Συνεδρίου είναι να συγκεντρώσει επιστήμονες και ερευνητές της αλλοδαπής και της ημεδαπής, διεθνούς κύρους, που ασχολούνται με το Αρχαίο Θέατρο, για να εδραιωθεί μια βάση αρχής ερεύνης και να ανταλλαχθούν γόνιμες απόψεις και πρόσφορες θέσεις σχετικά με το ζήτημα. Γι’ αυτό τον λόγο και με γνώμονα τη διασφάλιση της επιστημονικής και ακαδημαϊκής εγκυρότητας των ανακοινώσεων συγκροτείται διεπιστημονική επιτροπή κρίσης των προς παρουσίαση περιλήψεων.
Παράλληλα στόχος είναι να ενθαρρυνθούν και να δοθεί η ευκαιρία σε υποψήφιους διδάκτορες, μεταπτυχιακούς και προπτυχιακούς φοιτητές να συμμετάσχουν στον επιστημονικό διάλογο και να παρουσιάσουν σύντομες δικές τους εργασίες.
Τα Πρακτικά του συνεδρίου, καθώς θα καλύπτουν ευρύ φάσμα άρθρων διαφόρων ειδικοτήτων, θα αποτελέσουν έναν συγκροτημένο και ολοκληρωμένο πυρήνα μεταγενέστερων αναφορών και μέσο προώθησης της σύγχρονης θεατρικής μελέτης και έρευνας.
Καλούμε όλους τους ενδιαφερόμενους που θα ήθελαν να εκδηλώσουν ενδιαφέρον για συμμετοχή στο συνέδριο να αποστείλουν κατ’ αρχάς την «Αίτηση Συμμετοχής» και όσους επιθυμούν να παρουσιάσουν ανακοίνωση να το δηλώσουν στην αίτηση και να αποστείλουν την περίληψη μέχρι την 7η Ιανουαρίου 2008.

and in collaboration with the module ‘Ancient Greek Theatre’ of the
academic program ‘Hellenic Civilization’ of the H.O.U.,
the cultural society ‘Ekataios’ organizes the IInd International Conference.
Its subject is space and time in Ancient Theatre,
(Tragedy, Comedy, Satyr-Play, Mime, Roman Drama).
The conference will focus on contemporary research on the theatrical aspect, the dramatic and the ‘scenic’ function, and on the dramaturgical use and exploration (as presented in the plays, but also according to social and political criteria) of the space and time that are given in myth and plot. Other themes will be the institution of the dramatic games and the development of ‘chronotope’ as a theatrical term.
Some of the themes that the conference will explore are: the performances and the theater-buildings outside Athens, the way past and present are used in the extant plays, the connection between the performances and the dominant ideology at the time of the staging, the portrayal of rural and urban life in the plays, the connection between the dramatic space/tope and time and -more generally- of the theatre and the political events and life, the possibility of a more accurate dating of the plays based on specific references, the theatre as a source for folklore and legal evidence and testimonies. In addition to these, other aspects will include the change made by the dramatists of the mythological or fantastical underground in connection to the religious, philosophical and social trends of their era. Themes of special interest will be the question of how space and time are understood by modern directors, and the metaphysical and metatheatrical interpretation of ‘chronotope’.
Further proposals for oral communications related to the subject of the conference, and not mentioned above can be included in the program of the conference and in the work-groups.
The aim of the IInd International Conference is to bring together scholars and researchers of all disciplines that are related to ancient theatre in order to establish a sort of a ‘data base’ and to facilitate a fertile discussion on each theme.
Another aim of the conference is to encourage, and to give an opportunity to PhD candidates, postgraduate and undergraduate students to attend, to contribute to the discussions, and to present a short paper.
The Proceedings will include a wide range of papers from different disciplines, and will be helpful as a work of reference, and as a way to promote research on ancient theatre.
We invite all those interested in attending the conference to submit the ‘Participation Form’, and those who would like to contribute an oral communication to submit (by e-mail or by post) an abstract (of 600 words) until the 7th of January 2008.
